I think you're being slightly whingy. I woudln't use it unless i had an alienware laptop/PC at which point I'd love it.
It's like having an Intel badge on the front of the PC, or your graphic card logo before the bios loads on bootup.

If you like or not, everything hardware part of your computer is produced by some company. And you as well support them by buying.
So maybe you should stop being so close minded and let other people just having their oppinions.
Maybe you should move to a lonely island and stop consuming anything at all???
I mean sorry, but people like you sometimes make me wonder if using linux and open source is really makes sense or just pushs me to the other extreme.
