Well I for one am one of those creationist christians and I am very happy with all aspects of this splash. KDE-look.org is about freedom of expression and if everyone else can post half-naked to fully-naked woman and splashes like satans church I think we can have a bible verse in a absolutely beautiful picture that reminds us of what our heavenly father has created.

Minus44C

Its too bad to have a religion debate when the picture is nice. I'd just like to have a picture without text, and if the picture leads me to good thoughts about religion or kind thoughts about fellow human beings or even being better to the environment, then it is not a person telling me to ...

ozemale

sure i understand how you feel, still others dont just sit on the fence and are prepaed to discuss these things, which is all good!!! expressing one's views is how ideas get spread which can only be for the better.

Minus44C

Could you do a version without the religious text?

ozemale

i could, but you know i think its better the way it is

fremtemann

Except for those who don't share your religion. If you're unwilling to edit it, I'll have a go and take out the religion. We'll call "non sectarian previous thoughts" or maybe just "precious thoughts without the gibberish". Merry 'narrow minded Christmas' buddy.

ozemale

regretfully you are the one who shows zero tollerance to others views. such narrow mindedness in opinion is staggering and and is inconsistant with informed debate. try to understand others views and refrain yourself from being the self appointed sensor as to what is proper. my christian views are indeed mine and i may post such things here from time to time, not only for myself but those who are like minded and would enjoy scriptual options for their computers. you see this site is about freedom of expression!!

Fine - do it if you like. But could you please *add* a version without text? The picture is nice and well done but that thin black line (on a 1600x1200 display) disturbes the look. And that version non-religious people and people of another religion could use too :)

ozemale

ty for the comment Janet. You could of course do some editing for yourself as you please, which is of course up to you. for my part I intend not to edit any scriptual messages from posted works. I may from time to time change the boot banners from the lower panel of the splash screen or add a new passage, but thats about it. hope you enjoy the panel anyhow

janet

> You could of course do some editing for yourself as you please It's difficult to stamp over. I guess you have the xcf file and can simply blend out the text with one click? But if you won't I accept.

Sammux

I kinda had the same thought. Looks like something a young-earth creationist would use...

ozemale

ty thats what its all about
