Description: The photo was taken in the county of "La Vera" in Extremadura (Spain). It's published in www.linex.org. LinEx is a spanish Linux distribution based on Debian made by Andago consulting for the Extremadura regional government, and is used at least on 80.000 of their computers. You can get the photo here:

The second screenshot is me working on it with GIMP under Mandrake Linux 9.1 and KDE 3.1.3.
Way 1: You may download KSplashManager to easily manage and install any splash screen on kde-look.org: http://www.kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=2562
Compile KSplashManager by doing: $ tar zxvf ksplashmanager-0.9.1b.tar.gz $ cd ksplashmanager.b $ ./configure $ make $ su Password: (enter root password) # make install # exit
Then you can execute it going to the K menu, selecting "Run command..." and entering "/usr/local/kde/bin/ksplashmanager" (you may copy and paste but without the quotes).
Way 2: Uncompress the splash-screen .tar.gz and copy the files contained inside it to the directory ~/.kde/share/apps/ksplash/pics . If the directory doesn't exist, just create it.
