i love the theme but when i install it there is a something on top of the start menu icon, look at the start icon below http://www.flickr.com/photos/38694384@N07/3563470403/
Looks lovely, works well...I hope that the guys at brainstorm either support this project or add eye candy possibilities to slab, as slab looks just like a...well slab of widget slapped down with little grace and absolutely no style...as yet. In short slab, at this present time, is an ugly monstrosity that works, and Vista Menu is a beautiful menu that works....hmmm now which one is going to be the one that I and million others prefer? Mind you invoking the curse of 'Vista' in the name might be putting some purist ubuntu warrior monks off...
I am not sure here. I even reset under theme i use the gtkrc gtk-button-images =0 changed it to 1 for true and it still does not show icons. also i cannot change the color from blue to black
I had to delete the account and remake it and then it worked perfectly. Although now there is another problem - Why don't submenus work?
nvm i fixed it
Hi The menu looks cool, although for some reason my menu just stays as a white box with the search thing flashing. How do I fix this?
Im having a similar problem. The menu appears as a blank white box with a text box. How did you fix it? I'm totally lost.
well I figured out if I use the right gtx themes then I have my icons on the left but on my other suystem I still need to fix the bug with icon box not working I heard this had something to do with a compiz issue any buddy know where to find fix?
If you want to change this manually right now, type sudo gedit /usr/share/vistamenu/Themes/0/themedata.xml and change Height="64" to Height="65" and do the same for the other theme sudo gedit /usr/share/vistamenu/Themes/1/themedata.xml
on one system I get icons on left but icon box on top does not work. I installed on laptop and Icon box on top works but I have no icons on the ledft only text. Any rhyme to this reason?
the main menu icon does not apear tranparent on my panel it leaves me with a white background with either image that I use and the selected item icon box deoes not show any icons no matter what is selected on the menu. Is there a fix or something I need to tweak for this? obviously the screen shots show it working .
I changed my gtk theme and that fixed the panel icon but still can't figure out the icon box on top of the menu that is suppose to change nothing apears in there.
GREAT GREAT WORK and with more help we can make it GREAT lets UNITE & HELP
First off, I LOVE your work! The original Vista menu is great, but your improvements really make a difference! However, I'm having trouble getting it just right. It seems to have installed correctly, so I assume it's just some tweaking problems. I currently am trying to properly configure the Linsta GTk theme, but I can't get the panel to work right. There's a white space above the panel that cuts through the menu icon. No matter how i resize or change panel backgrounds, I can't get it. Currently it's set at size 24, but I think I would like it a little bigger anyways. I would love to have exactly the same look that yours does. Also, how do you make it transparent? I added the line in Compiz config for alpha blur, but it still isn't transparent. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Transparent: compizconfig-settings-manager -> General Options -> Opacity Settings Add (name=Vista) -18621 Blur: On screenshot

That's great! I've got that awesome transparent blur effect. One more thing you'll notice in the screenshot is the start button. I'm totally lost as to how to correct that. Any ideas? Sorry, apparently the previous link is broken. This one works. http://aycu36.webshots.com/image/41195/2004316671790667612_rs.jpg
Excellent. with that info i have transparency but i do not understand how to blur...also I do not have icons showing up on menu to left like it shows in this screen shot?
Instructions for blur are in the second screenshot. Open the Blur Windows plugin settings in your Compiz Configuration Manager and add the (name=Vista) line to "Alpha Blur Windows" and make sure the check box is ticked. That should do it. As far as icons, can't help you there.
Thanks that worked great
Hi, this package contains an outdated version of 'Vista Menu'. The newer version is much improved and I would recommend adding it.
ok
hello slowamir, first one thank you. Can you tell me please where you have the Rose Wallpaper? Thats looks great with this Menu ;) Thanks once again and regards from Turkey Ekber
