How to install a grub theme:
-
Extract the theme to
/boot/grub/themes/
-
Edit
/etc/default/grub
file. Find the line starting with "#GRUB_THEME" and change it to "GRUB_THEME=/boot/grub/themes/[THEME_FOLDER]/[theme.txt]" (replace [THEME_FOLDER] ; [theme.txt] is probably OK ; remove "[]" brackets) -
Run
sudo update-grub

Hi there...i am trying to install this theme but I don't have the message.ubuntu file. Is there anyway you can send it to me?
sorry, it was my mistake, on my explanation instead of 'message.ubuntu' should be 'message.studio'.
Now I have another problem...sorry to be such a pain in the butt...why can't I unpack the file into the /boot/grub directory. it says I don't have permission to do so? I am logged in via the Terminal as "su" and I am at the root. I can't figure it out. Help me once more please. Geoff
