Love that design, but with lots of network Icons mounted to media, i wished i had the possibility to put conky in the background; if I need an icon i had to do a killall conky, rearrange the desktop and startit again
Hi,
I've made a couple mods to the script, nothing outside of the readme though. I had it working normally except for the downspeed graph which I'd forgotten to change to eth1 instead of wlan0. Anyway, I made the change (and nothing else) and now on every attempt to run conky with this script, it exits with the message "Alarm clock"
I've tried undoing the changes I made but it still gives me the same output, and no conky.
Any ideas?
Okay, it's really weird. It worked once when I ran it with an "&" after the terminal command, then on retest it won't. It tends to be a bit sporadic, exiting with a statement "[1]+ Alarm Clock" or just "Alarm Clock".
It seems when the [1]+ is there I mustn't include the "&" and when it's not I have to use "&".
WTF? I tried installing the alarm-clock package (clutching at straws here) to no avail also. I can't see any references in the conkyrc, or luas.
I had the same issue though I don't use this conky configuration. I did borrow some ideas from it though and I realised the part which queries for the external IP is causing the problem. That also probably explains the intermittent nature of the problem.
Look for the part which queries http://checkip.dyndns.org/ for the external IP and comment it out.
Hope it helps... :)

where is the .conkyrc script? In the scripts directory in this file it isnt there?
Only rings.lua... isnt it so that you must modify the .conkyrc also?
