I am a java and 1/2 C guy. Im learning python to implement this. I need your help to get this done soon

Why don't you just download vista menu and make it a thme for that. P.S. if you want I can do it for you
I agree with Themer, this can be a simple wvista menu copy but the idea is to make a Linux Start Menu better than wvista, and to do so, we must use something as a base of the project and...there it is! ;) It's great, but it can get even better man! keep up the great job! Tip: not everything MUST be wvista-like. I think that the secret here is to add more character to the menu, implementing something Ubuntu Hardy Heron-like and then you're done!
Imitation is the purest form of flattery. I can just see Steve Balmer greedily rubbing his hands together as he sais "we've got them right where we want them". I too, like gimmie - it's original, and not based on another operating system. Something like this might be good for someone who's switching over from vista, but why not use KDE with the kickstart menu?
No te preocupes, lo mio era una crítica constructiva, todos estos se subireron al carro del enjuiciamiento. Creo que Gimmie es una muy buena opción, además de original, deberías pensar en colaborar en ese proyecto :) Bueno, todo esto era para decir que siempre es preferible hacer las cosas para y desde Linux, en vez de copiarlas, más aún sí es una copia de windows.
I can't see any useful thing in this. You just flood all the buttons from Ubuntu menu (which was clearly divided by categories) in one big hole! Including tracker, for what?! Useless rip-off.
Isn't 'Gimmie' already doing this quite well?

Yeah, you are right. I'll think something else. This is true copy and not productive content.
I disagree! Yes, you could not have copied it better, but its a great idea and with some work would be a great menu... Other reasons why it should stay but its too long and involves legal issues :D
Yea, even if it's copy so is it a very good one. The thought before is just a generally thought regarding all the Windows clones. ;)
Because they work fine, everybody knows theme, they're clear and easy. Especially in menu case.
