Installation (Empathy)
Extract the file to your personal folder in .local/share/adium/message-styles/ . Choose the theme Ambiance in Theme tab on Empathy preferences, choose your preferred variant. The folder does not exist? Create it!
If you are upgrading from a previous version, open the empathy and choose another theme. Then delete the folder from the previous version of theme and extract the new file. Reopen Empathy and choose the theme Ambiance again in Theme tab on Empathy preferences.
Installation (KDE Telepathy)
Follow the same steps for Empathy installation, except that target folder should be .kde/share/apps/ktelepathy/styles/ in your personal folder. The folder does not exist? Create it!
Installation (Kopete)
Download Kopete version and install through the settings
Installation (Instantbird)
Download Kopete version and install through the Add-ons manager
Installation (Pidgin) *** NOT SUPPORTED FOR NOW - Try at your own risk ***
First install the plugin that provides support for Adium themes in Pidgin, then simply extract the file on .purple/message_styles located in your home folder, then select the theme Ambiance and their preferred variant in WebKit message styles plugin preferences on Pidgin.

Can do for money. Swap contacts when dealing with a person that my messages were right and the other person left. I feel so comfortable to look at messages.in Instantbird Can do for money. Swap display messages my messages were on the right side, and another person from the left. For me it is so comfortable. For program Instantbird (Windows).
I really like this theme for Instantbird and would like to use it. However, every time I apply this theme and keep a chat window open, I start getting a high CPU usage (35% or more). The CPU usage seems to go away once I close the chat window. No other themes cause this kind of issue. Very strange. I recently did a complete rebuild of my laptop (windows 7 pro) and the issue still exists.
Hey, this theme is really just wonderful. I love it! Unfortunately, the Light style is broken (Empathy on Ubuntu). The background gradient doesn’t adapt to the window’s size, neither does the top gradient stay on top of the window. This limits the window to a certain size, which is a shame.

hehe, Thanks for the quick reply! :) For anyone else wondering.. I was having trouble because the "adium/message-styles/" folder did not exist. So if you have the same issue.. go to foler .local/share/ then create a folder named "adium" inside the adium folder, create one more folder named "message-styles". Then extract theme file into the "message-styles" folder. So you would extract contents to .local/share/adium/message-styles/ Thanks Frank! Love all your work man. :) <3
Amazing theme, love it! Still I found an issue using instantbird. If someone post too long url, it doesn't breaks the line and stretches the window, pushing the incoming elements aside, while horizontal scrollbar appears at the bottom. Also I wanted to suggest a bare Ambience, would be cool if you make one more variant, even more clean. Removing the followups, removing the top and bottom shadowmaks of messages, replacing the red dashed border for when receive reply in inactive window, with something more smooth and not so eye spiking. That would be nice as well.

Sorry, I tried installing the plugin in debian Squeeze, but without success. The plugin simply does not appear in plugins list. I installed Ubuntu 11.10 by following this tip, with some changes >> http://www.webupd8.org/2009/11/adium-themes-in-pidgin-ubuntu-karmic.html

Looks really nice. I use Empathy for IRC alsom which did not work immediately. I had to close out Empathy and open the program again. All looks good. Not sure where to put it for Pidgin. Thanks much!
