I used the beautiful pidgin icons created by openartist
http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php/Pidgin+icons+-+released?content=62169
Install Instructions and gtkrc file neatly copied from
http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php/Pidgin+Wallpaper+with+Fedora-Logo+small?content=64877
How to install:
1. Unpack the zip-file contents to your home directory
2. Press Ctrl + h if you don't see the hidden files.
3. Open .gtkrc-2.0 file (Create one if you dont find it. Please remember its a hidden file (.))
4. Copy and Paste the below line
include ".gtkrc-pidgin"
into the .gtkrc-2.0 file
5 restart Pidgin and you should see the new background

If you don't like the changes just put an # before the include line. That should invalidate the code. Restart pidgin and you are now back to normal

Is there anyway to add no-repeat to the backgroud? So if you scroll down the background wont move?
It's just perfect! Thanks a lot :) Could You tell me what gtk and metacity theme are You using? The windows' borders and button close minimize etc looks also great.
yay, this theme makes me happy...but it is sad that a pidgin theme can make me happy...
Its the cute icon effect...We should thank openartist for it.
This artwork is really good and suits Pidgin perfectly. Well done!
All smiles...thank you
i am useing Pidgin 2.2.1 in ubuntu 7.10 and it is not working i get no background and it is pael white background
If you've followed all the install instructions then it would work fine. May be you need to restart your pidgin for this to take effect.
No way, man! I did just what you told us - I have extracted files from archive and placed them into proper directories. Then I restarted my Pidgin 2.5.2, and nothing happened. Maybe you got a clue on what to do with it?
dude...I made some changes to the instructions. Please try it now and hopefully it works well.
Unfortunately, it didn't. Maybe, that is because I running Kubuntu, not Ubuntu? I have a file named .gtkrc-2.0-kde at my home folder. I also tried to make changes there, but with no luck. It would be very pity if I won't made it work somehow...
sorry bro'...I use Ubuntu and I've no clue as to how to do it in Kubuntu.
