i meant "some of the community" being ignorant not all, of course there also conscious people! (with brains to think for themselves and eyes to see for themselves)

You got it all backwards. I do embracesome odd ideas... like freedom.. and things like Open Source software, and for the record.. I think for myself too. I never formulate opinions on the spot, I stop I listen and I try to judge with my heart where I stand on issues. I'm also not a Conservative Republican, I'm a Libertarian, and I voted for Harry Browne in 2000 not George Bush... But whatever.. I guess you come to your own conclusions.. and apparently that is.. Whoever doesn't agree with me isn't "smart" ...humm.. Ya know, that sounds kinda foolish to me as I think about it.

ok i maybe went a little to far labbelling all people of ... to be ... but i also think that some values are (or ought to be) part of the open source community and am often dissapointed which leads to such posts. anyways...if you understand what i mean you will realize i am only looking for some concious headz out there not cought up in all the patriotist and nationalist bullshit (excuse ma language) ;) cya

it saddens me to see that the open source/linux community is conservative and ignorant. i always thought being open minded was a condition of belonging to the linux community. and to all you people holding up the red scare: have you ever thought of the concept of open source? it means thousands of people working together to reach a common goal, and sharing the results and experience with others for free. i am not a communist but the system you are living in right now has opposite values than the open source community. ps: nice icon :-) pps to all-you bush supporters: following a stupid man is proof of your own stupidity.

I hope all of you understand that this whole "liberate Iraq from the oppressive Hussein regime" and "make the world a safer place by eliminating a global threat" thing is just a noble-sounding pretext. In reality we want to get rid of Saddam only to establish a US-controlled puppet regime in Iraq to increase our oil supply. It's also a means by which we can further ensure the security of Israel. Don't be fooled for a second by that moron Bush's lies. "But Hussein is blatantly ignoring the UN!" So do we. No one has broken more treaties out of selfish reasons than the US. No member of the UN ignores UN advice and demands more than the US. We have broken missile treaties with our Soviet enemy for selfish reasons, when those treaties were designed to PREVENT NUCLEAR HOLOCAUST! Don't get me wrong. I would gladly, PERSONALLY castrate Saddam Hussein with a rusty nail and have hyenas feast on his vital organs. But I will not let my country use noble-sounding excuses to get cheaper gas. I will not pay an Iraqi life per gallon at the pump.

a US-controlled puppet regime? exactaly what is that? Puerto Rico? being a ignorant fool, I dont care if we march in there steal oil and entiraly "dominate" everything. because if we do.. EVERYTHING will be better for the people of Iraq despite any "evil scheme" created in the white house. a british reporter watched 30 people executed by plastic shreaders in one day, the remains used as fish food. slowley shreaded alive!! what the worst that can happen here?

k1e0x

how about REAL lasting peace? how about further weapons inspections assisted by some "experts in weapons" the US Army? nobody supports the war.. oh except all these people. http://www.kvi.com/x2977.xml?ParentPageID=x3280&ContentID=x3867&Layout=KVI.xsl&AdGroupID=x3250

Can you make more? How about an icon with a picture of the World Trade Center and the number 3000 for the people who died! How about a "1.5m" for the number of people that Saddam has murdered! How about about an icon for each one of the chem. weapon type Iraq has? Be creative. Rickety-Rick...Saddam on a stick! I can't wait...all I want to see is the little greasy spot that's left of Saddam in 30days. Have a nice day! Tux Rules!

Hussein did not destry the WTC, it was a bunch of moslem looneys. Saddam Hussein is a dictator who rejects religosity. A fact for which he has repeatedly been blamed by Bin Ladn. You have to open your eyes and take a sharp look at the world. If you want to take revenge for the WTC don't choose the wrong target. Cheerz Lars Cheerz Lars

Saddam is guilty by association. Those that are terrorists or states that harbor terrorist will be dealt with. Just go back to your "cushy" little fantasy world. Saddam will be brought down shortly. He will be used as an example to other rogue states. Countries which are founded on a Republic form of government with a free economy are the best way and IMHO the ONLY way. :) PS: If you happen to look at a world map you'll notice that Iran is conveniently located between freed Afganistan and soon to be freed Iraq. Surely Iran would not be stupid enough to harbor any Al-qaeda. If they are smart they won't. PPS: If you get a chance tell the little communist dictator "Troll Doll" up in North Korea not too sleep too easy at night. His day's are numbered as well. Most likely China will slap him upside the head for us. China loves money and they don't want anyone messing up their little Communist/Capitalist experiment. PPPS: Try reading sometime, your arguments bore me.

Your none-arguments bore *me* "Saddam is guilty by association. Those that are terrorists or states that harbor terrorist will be dealt with." So you're prosecutor, judge and executioner in one? "Just go back to your "cushy" little fantasy world." I don't live in a fantasy world and my world is not cushy. Maybe those who believe that terrorism can be abolished with a war are the ones who live in fantasy world. It's one feature of terrorism that it exists completely detached from any structure which represents a state or country. It's spread all over the world and no war against a single country can do anything against that. (E.g. Afghanistan: Bin Ladn just left and lives somewhere else now, e.g. Israel/Palestine: they have war there since decades and terrorism is stronger than ever) Saddam will be brought down shortly. He will be used as an example to other rogue states. "Countries which are founded on a Republic form of government with a free economy are the best way" Fully ack. The question is: How does one obtain this? Do you want to invade 100 of about 180 countries on earth (my estimation of the relation between democratic and none-democratic states in the world)? "PPS: If you get a chance tell the little communist dictator "Troll Doll" up in North Korea not too sleep too easy at night. His day's are numbered as well. Most likely China will slap him upside the head for us. China loves money and they don't want anyone messing up their little Communist/Capitalist experiment." Wasn't it you who wanted to liquidate all the states who aren't the way you like it. Allright, have fun with China. Wake up, this is no computer game. War kills human beings, mostly the innocent ones. "PPPS: Try reading sometime, your arguments bore me" You are the polite kind, aren't you? One question: Do you have kids? Cheerz Lars PS: Hope my english is not too bad

Nice to see the Cheryl "The best way to solve problems is not to have enemies" Crow brigade can make submissions here too. Enjoy your "bad" votes. I'd like to see your expression once we liberate Baghdad and Saddam "I drop political prisoners in vats of acid for entertainment" Hussein's head is on a pike outside one of his palaces.
