Description: Exquisite is a port of the Xp_Mad icon set created byMimin Ladha. Additional icons by Ghast (action icons) were added to complete the icon set, but additinal releases will follow. This icon set uses a modified version of the build script created by Nick Bargnesi. As a result, the download is only 2 MB instead of 10 MB(Yes, I still have love for 56k users). The only tools required to create the entire icon set are bzip, tar, and convert (ImageMagik). Unpackage the Exquisite.tar.bz2 compressed file and run the included script buildset (./buildset - for newbies). Afterwards, use the Kcontrol center to install the icon set. Please provide some feed back about the icon set. I hope most people like it. If not, give me a good vote anyway :-)Last changelog:
Added a link to download an alternative Konsole and Xterm Icon - Removing the C: - you guys really do hate Microsoft don't you.
That's very silly of you to say, knowing that the only people who do in fact hate Microsoft are Windows users (I should know)... However, having a "C:" on a konsole icon does seem a bit improper, if you ask me, since I've never seen that "C:" displayed on any Konsole, ever. So I don't think it's about hate, it's just "not quite on the spot". I don't like to camouflage my computer imitating systems I don't use, that's all there is to it. No need to get "that" carried away.
I was looking for iconsets just like in every half year, tried many and realised that still this is the best iconset for KDE, although somehow not between the highest rated. It has my vote.
hey how long does it take to work after the ./buildset command.. it says 15 secs on athlon 64.... I waited for 5 mins ... tell me the time so that i could wait until it finish... pleaseeeeee reply ...

" Personally I don't love or hate them, but I'm not using a Microsoft operating system and this theme isn;'t for one either. Therefore, anything that very specifically implies Microsoft is inappropriate. The same is true with themes based Mac OS X or themes that were ported from Mac OS X themes. Many of them are great, but are ruined by the inclusion of the Apple and/or MacOS logos. Why themers need to include stuff like this is beyond me. The rest of these themes looks great. If a logo that represents an OS is necessary at least use appropriate ones. In the case of KDE that would be the "K" logo or even a logo representing Linux or *BSD for example... Those just make sense. Microsoft or Apple logos or specific stuff makes no sense.
Thats not imitating any xp style or something.. Linux is a powerful and attractive operating system.... The theme just shows that linux can do better than other OS......ANd also beautiful works should always be admired..... Even i hate xp.. But i love this theme.....
First of all, THANK YOU for NOT creating a Mac OS X-inspired icon set. We all know Mac OS X looks pretty, but it seems only a few are trying to make KDE look original. Anyway, awesome icon set, I'm downloading it right now. Keep up the good work!
These are the only icons i ever use, but i was wanting to know if you might have icons for the processor and memory? I'm building a widget (for myself) and would like to include icons for the processor and memory meters. Thanks!! Great job!!!
I am using SUSE 9.2 x86-64.
What is the procedure for this icon theme to work on my system? I am kinda new, so need assitance.
I tried launching Contral Center and pointing to the file, but it says no theme found!
Hi !
I have the same problem when I try to install the icon theme, it's not about the special procedure and the "build set", this worked fine, but it's with the index.desktop ... I've selected this file when installing a new icon theme in control center and I got an error : "The file is not a valid icon theme archive!".
In the readme file, there is no information about how to install the exquisite theme in control center.
Maybe some kde package I don't have is needed for this kind of operation ...
Could you help me ?
Thanks,
Hello!
The build procedure generates a new tar file. What might be confusing is that it is named like the first tar file you downloaded. Import the new generated tar file from the KDE Control Center, at least that is how I tested it.
Thanks a lot, it works now ... I hadn't got that I had to select the archive and not the index.desktop file in the control center.
These icons are very nice !

It's done using a non-standard procedure as explained in the description. The tar file also contains a README file.
