Description:
H3O-D3A is a port of the incredible Icons created by Milosz Wlazlo. Please visit his website and check out some of his additional works. Not only was he nice enough to agree to this port, he also created distribution specific Kmenu icons that are only available with this KDE release. Thanks again Miloz! This icon set uses a modified version of the build script created by Nick Bargnesi. As a result, the download is only 3 MB instead of 12 MB. The only tools required to create the entire icon set are bzip, tar, and convert (ImageMagik). Unpackage the H3O-D3A_Build_Kit.tar.bz2 compressed file and run the included script buildset (./buildset - for newbies). I would suggest that everyone check out the 128x128 folder and customize the icons for your distribution. Some distros use special naming conventions for icons (Mandrake, Suse, etc) so you may have rename some icons to see them natively show up. The buildscript handles generating the correct kmenu icon. After building the set, use the Kcontrol center to install the icon set. Please provide some feed back about the icon set(*Popular* application icons found in most distributions that are missing). I hope most people like it. If not, give me a good vote anyway :-)
Last changelog:

1. Added new navigation icons for juk

2. Added new icons for gens, limewire, kdict, rpm, and deb

Credit for all the new icons that have been added has been included in the index.desktop file. For verification, check the icon menu in Kcontrol

3. Code cleanup on the build script

4. Link to the Gnome port by bvc. The Gnome release is more in the style of D3A. The KDE version combines all the icons from both styles (best of both worlds).

5. Link to the original release for those that prefer the original icons.

It sounds like your installing the icon build kit compressed package instead of the icon package. The icon package will be significantly larger than the build kit. MAke sure you install the correct compressed package in the KDE Icon contol center.

I don't know how to install the theme. Tried it with kde 3.3.1. In the kde control center I clicked on install theme, and indeed it appeared in the list there. But if I click on apply nothing changes. Though when I hover over the icons on the desktop, I see the correct icons that should be there.

One of the best icon sets I've ever seen! Hope there will be more icons soon :)

This download is marked as "GPL" but the README file has a GPL-incompatible license: "Thank You for downloading the KDE Port of the H3O, H3O:Extra Pack 1, and dA3 icon sets. All icons from this set are only for personal use and can't be copied, published or used in commercial projects without permission."

Wishes:

- Make a Debian icon for KMenu
- Make OOo icons
- Change Konqueror icon to not look like Safari one. - Change license (please, these stuff is too good to have a restrictive license. If you don't do, future distros won't be able to include in their icon sets)

Thank you very much for these pieces of art :-)

Regards.

This is really good work... cute :-) Only the CD-device icons look a bit too bold and do not fit so well into the set...

guppetto

Are you kidding, the CD icons are my favorite icons in the entire set.

SilverStar

Love the icons dude, very very nice indeed. Just one thing - I'm begging you for that wallpaper! Any chance of a link or tell me where to find it? I can't see it in the Wallpapers section on this site. Cheers, Phil.

Can someone please provide the complete icon set? (without having to use the script). I can't install imagemagic here because it conflicts with kde3.3 beta2 :P

maitre

i'm running the same, i've got imagemagick on --prefix=/usr and kde on --prefix=/opt/kde with no problems at all.

joshofparis
