(As root):
Open /etc/lilo.conf and hope that vga is set to 791 (that is 1024 x 76
. If not, make your own logo and leave 
Goto /usr/share/splash
backup your bootsplash-1024x768.cfg and bootsplash-1024x768.jpg
Override bootsplash-1024x768.jpg with the one you can download here.
Edit bootsplash-1024x768.cfg:
fgcolor=14
tx=10
ty=57
tw=510
th=231
Finally run mk_initrd and lilo
That's it.

It works with SuSE 7.3 in exactly the same way, for those who are wondering :) And my second point is that it's a cool idea sticking it up in the corner, but not much use if you want to go back to runlevel 3 and play around in the console ;)
