Description:
This is my try to create a color scheme for amaroK.

As you can see, I'm not a great artist, but the attempt was to create an example for other developers/artists of how a amaroK CSS-Scheme could look like, because I didn't find one.

I basically copied the default CSS-Code from the HTML-Source Code of the Context Browser, (beautified it) and changed a lot of things.

Please note, that I removed the musicbrainz image (display: none), because I don't need it ;-)
If you want to enable that again, delete line 139 of the style sheet.

I hope someone finds this useful.

How to install:

- download the archive
- unpack the stylesheet.css to "$KDEHOME/share/apps/amarok/styles/yellow/" (create the directoy first)
- stop amaroK (sorry, your music has to wait a few seconds)
- Edit your amarokrc (in $KDEHOME/share/config) and add the following line to the "General Options" section:

ContextBrowser StyleSheet=yellow

- start amaroK again!

>=amarok-1.2-beta2 is required for this!

Hi, nice theme ! Just one thing that get on my nerves ... How do you all manage to get the albums preview thumbs to be displayed ?? I have never been able to get it work ... and it's should be more than easy no ?

leinir

You'll need to exit amaroK before editing the file, or the changes will be lost when amaroK exists :) Yes, we know this is not a very user-friendly way of doing it ;) The work is not complete yet on this, and we have plans to implement a GUI to switch the stylesheets from within amaroK, so no worries :)

Thanks for your comment, I updated my instructions. I'm sure you'll improve this feature... amaroK always improved. But no reason to not try this feature ;-)

leinir

Definitely :) If you look in the amaroK screenshots section, the one listed there is my theme ;) I'll be releasing it myself when the interface stabilises a little more :)

im gonna download this. i just hope it compiles right. anyway, is it possible to add two more DCOP commands? the first is to get a percentage of currenttime/total time and the second is to open up the album cover window.

eean

You can't compile a style sheet. :)
