Description: This is a joke screensaver for KDE 2.2. This is great for fooling your boss! ("Yes, sir, I've got that server upgraded like you asked for..") -dT-Last changelog:
* Fixed a problem in kcad.cpp which was preventing clean compilation. Should work better now. (my apologies for such a sloppy release!)
I excecute configure file then message out
checking for Qt... configure: error: Qt (>= Qt 2.2.1) (headers and libraries) not found. Please check your installation!
what wrong ? Any can help me ?
I am running KDE3.0. It compiled fine, and installed etc ok. But it just wont show up in the Screen Savers menu (and I cant figure out why). Any sugestions (yes I have restarted X, etc).

I've had this problem a few times. On my system (fedora, kde3.1) it was always caused by a corresponding *.desktop file missing from "[KDEDIR]/share/apps/kscreensaver/ScreenSavers/".
Most sources for kde screensavers come with the *.desktop file ready to be moved should you find this is missing.
Hi, I can't compile it ;(
System is a debian unstable.
thanks
have fun

Hi! I'm the guy who made the MDK compile post a few threads up. I realized I was using GNU's autoconf version 2.50 (to make kvirc3 compile). I switched back to MDK's autoconf-2.13-11mdk with automake-1.4-20.p5.mdk and I now get the error this post is about, as opposed to the error I originally posted. Sorry for the confusion, I forgot I was using that version...
On MDK-8.1:
creating config.h
cd . && autoheader
autoheader: error: shell error while sourcing /root/tmp/ah787uxk/traces.sh
make: *** [stamp-h.in] Error 1
I used --disable-debug --prefix=/usr for my configure options. Configure seems to finsh fine (no errors, anyway), but as you see when it goes to create the other Makefiles it goes boom. I have make-3.79.1-6mdk installed. I don't know what other versions you'd need to know.
Have you tried re-building the configure system with "make -f Makefile.cvs"? Some people have reported that this fixes their problems with my packages... (Sorry... hehehe:) -dT-
Mostly, I referred to the sources for existing KSS modules. Feel free to e-mail me if you want... I may be able to provide some simple skeleton code for ya. :) -dT- (brian@shadowcom.net)
We don't need things like these.
It just creates the impression
that kde wants to imitate windows.
I want kde for kde, not for
looking like windows.
If you are not creative enough
for this site, just stay away of
it.
Let that one go. Some people like to hear themselves complain. I, for one, appreciate the work you put into it.
Thanks,

Remove one of the #define MODE_NT4_COMPAT or #define MODE_WINDOWS_NT4 and it should compile.. What this affects I don't know though :) denis
My bad. That was corrected _after_ I uploaded the tarball to kde-look. I'll get an updated copy posted shortly... :) -dT-
Please try downloading it now. The kcad.cpp problem should be corrected now. :) -dT-
Ok, it works, thanks. But I can see nothing ;) Maybe it's my broken kde on debian unstable (libpng) Maybe in a week. have fun HAL

Well, rerunning this ... make -f Makefile.cvs .. didn't fix the issue on SuSE 7.3. The screensaver looks cool..but doesn't compile on SuSE 7.2 or 7.3.

OK, I just tried it. No go. :-( Same error. Damn, and I really want to keep my boss fooled... :-)
Hey how do you write a KDE screensaver? Ive been searching for tutorials and whatnot but cant see anything.

What part of "joke" screensaver do you NOT understand? Have you even _seen_ any of the other software I've put here? :/ -dT-

Thanks for the kind words! :) -dT-
What we REALLY do NOT need is censorship of the kind you just suggested. Dennis
