If you do not mind my asking what weather script are you using with Conky, I have tried a few but that one looks to be the most robust I have seen thus far.
I was using a script, but it didn't work very well...now I use a screenlet, adapting it to my conky dimensions...you can find it here: http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php/Wide+weather?content=77168

What is the program showing your cpu usage etc?
I think it's Conky. Maybe I'm wrong?!
The program is conky, you can find it in your distro repositories...using ubuntu sudo apt-get install conky
