Description: Hi, log time has passed, but at last i have a functional version of my KSplasher Editor ported to QT4. It has a lot of new features like:
- A new UI written in PyQT4 (that changes dependency of KSplasher to python-qt4) - A new install/uninstall bash script based on install script for QNokiacomander from Federico Manganelli - An "create new" wizard for your new themes - You can change the background on-the-fly - You can TEST your themes directly from KSplasher (before install it) - You can save your themes as .tar.gz or directory for further modifications.
Well, as always all feedback is welcome.
Coming soon: KSplasherX, my KSplasher but for the new ksplashx splash engine (KDE4).
Installation: - once uncompressed, run ./install.sh from konsole. - you now can run it with ALT+F2 and "ksplasher" or click on your new ksplasher icon under "Graphics" menu.
What I can do about enlisting some help with these items...
I myself feel the kde devs should try to help you do this and make this an official kde app (built in)
But, we'll see what we can do.. it's definitely an awesome idea, and the last release worked very well...
err... i'm not that skilled (yet) to do that. i'm just using an install script found on another app, but if you can help me fixing it (or creating some new script) i'll be glad.
see ya.
maybe some more detailed install info?
I followed your instructions, and nothing happens.
there is no icon in my graphics menu, perhaps some more scripts are needed?
hi, my friend. thnx for trying my app.
have you tried with ALT+F2 and then typing "ksplasher" ??
about dependencies, it's only python-qt4 (or pyqt4 depending your distro).
i have tried the install script in some systems (kde3 and kde4) and sometimes as you told, it doesn't appears the icon. :(
if someone can fix the script i'll be pleased.

is it possible for you to add a config /bin/sh shell script?

actually, let me check as I don't think I have the py extension needed for the last release since I did a clean install
