9 I absolutely adore Converseen and I use it all the time. Unmatched format support. The UX could stand to be simplified a touch, but I'm not complaining. Love it.
I have troubles with resizing my photo collection. For example, I have 3 photos with different aspect ratio - 1024x768, 1024x600, 768x1024, 1024x1024. And I want resize all of it to maximum 600x600 pixels and keep aspect ratio, so new sizes must be: 600x450, 600x351, 450x600, 600x600. But I can't find the way how I can do this with converseen. If I select some image for preview, set checkbox "Mantain aspect ratio" and try to set 600x600 in "Scale image" editbox, it always change other value to current image aspect ratio. So I can't set 600x600. If I didn't select any image, it sets to 600x0 or 0x600. I use version 0.6.4 in Ubuntu. How can I solve this problem and do the resize with described rules? As I think, good solution will be add checkbox "Link aspect with current image" and maintain aspect ratio on type only when this checkbox is checked. Or maybe you can provide better solution.
Hi, I just added the feature on the new version of Converseen (0.6.7).
I see no commits in svn (cleaned out, migrated?). It'd be easier for me to automate (put in a script) the build process if it was done on source from repository
whenever I open it the actions panel has a scroll bar, even if I have resized it before closing. Obviously I can change this in 'configure windows settings' in KDE but think by default it should open with all the features/options viewable without scrolling thanks,
Hi! The vertical scroll bar appears because there are too many elements to be shown on the screen. This is why I added this scroll bar! :)
is there a way to pass arguments from console like for example the path or a list of files to convert? we could launch converseen from the service-menue of the dolphin file browser. a good example is this service menue: http://kde-apps.org/content/show.php/Converter?content=69981 but it uses nconvert besides i like your app :), it has potential
Hi, This is a great idea. In this moment there are no ways to pass arguments to Converseen. I hope to implement something to import images through the service menu! :)
Hi, I added a service menu to import images on Converseen using dolphin! :)
Added Fedora 15 packages for 32 bit and 64 bit
this page and the converseen website say that it supports JPEG-2000 but i can not open any JPEG-2000 files (there is not a JPEG-2000 filter in the open dialog and i can not drag & drop JPEG-2000 files into the application). is this a bug or an oversight or something like that?
I've converted a jpeg 2000 image to png successfully. Converseen can open only images supported by ImageMagik. If your ImageMagick installation supports Jpeg 2000 format a .jp2 filter should appear in filters list
Oh, and what is the "loc" folder? Are these translations? If so, why aren't they in .po formt? (And in all cases I've seen already, the folder for localizations is named "po")
Translations aren't in .po format becuse my application uses only Qt libs.
If I were you, I'd change the name to "Konverseen ;)
It's not a KDE app, so why Konverseen?
Well, it's listed under "KDE Graphic Tool" ...
Yes, but it's a pure QT4 app and shouldn't be on kde-apps.org. And that's also the reason why the locale files have .ts and .qm extensions Btw. Have translated it into german. Will test it and send it to the author, if he wants.
Thanks for translation! You can send me it if you want! So, should I remove my app from kde-apps? Sorry but I'm new with linux programming!
If you want to keep it as pure Qt application, you can move it to qt-apps.org site. The kde-apps.org site is for applications what use KDE platform and so on integrates well to the Plasma-desktop or Plasma-netbook desktops. Suggestion is always to desig the application for KDE platform so you can keep the application here ;)
Don't listen to the above person, it works in KDE, so should stay here. Not all apps need to be in some way integrated into plasma. I do have a suggestion though. Could there be a way to take a source image and generate a icon theme? ie generate 16x16, 22x22, 32x32, 48x48, 64x64 and 96x96 folders? That would be a neat feature or maybe a good separate app to start on.
Point for this KDE-Apps site to exist is that here are applications what uses KDE Platform and not just Qt platform. Pure Qt application belongs to the qt-apps.org site. That is its purpose to exist that users get pure Qt apps what works same way. Here are all applications what use KDE libraries and KDE Technologies so user has seamesly integrated application for all KDE Apps. That is just logical and pure fact.
