Description: Tripod allows for uploading and managing photos and photo albums on your iPod!
Tripod can display your iPod photo albums, as well as create, remove and rename them! Just so things don’t get too boring, you can even upload your images to the albums and show them off to your friends!
Tripod requires libgpod 0.4.2, which provides enhanced support for interfacing with ipod photo databases.
Enjoy.Last changelog:
0.7.0 * Fix compilation issues by relying on libgpod 0.4.2 * New iPod albums are added to the end of the list, not the front
my iphone's (fw 1.1.3) media folder (/private/var/mobile/Media/)
is mounted to /media/iphone
when i start tripod i get the following status message
Quote:
"iPod Unknown detected at: /media/iphone"
but i can't transfer images.
i guess i need provide some symlinks in my iPhone's media folder to make it work.
at the moment i've got the following directories
DCIM
DCIM/.MISC (containing Info.plist and PosterImage.jpg)
DCIM/100APPLE (containg the pictures taken with the iphone)
Photos (containing "Photo Database" and a Thumb folder)
thanks for your help!
I get an error when I run tripod. "<path to photo db> is too big to be an buffer file". Looks like the photo database is 16MB. Any ideas? or is this a libgpod issue? I am using a 5th gen black ipod video with the most up to date software.
Tripod works on Kubuntu 7.04 Feisty Fawn. But I don't know why it doesn't want to cooperate with my iPod Nano 2nd generation... Maybe I'll try to put images to iPod on Windows first.
Wont build on Kubuntu, kicks up a fuss over glib-object.h (its there I checked)and I have all the glib dev files installed.
Also seems to be heavily tied to gpod (yes I have that installed too) and complains no end about it.
This project definitely needs more work.
When I try to create an album, tripod get crashes. This message is showed on terminal:
tripod: ipod found mounted at /media/ipod
tripod: the ipod model must be set before photos can be added
I have an iPod Nano (second generation).
hi,
typing make I get this:
ipodexportdialog.cpp: In member function ‘void IpodExport::UploadDialog::startTransfer()’:
ipodexportdialog.cpp:328: error: cannot convert ‘GError**’ to ‘const gchar*’ for argument ‘3’ to ‘gboolean itdb_photodb_add_photo(Itdb_PhotoDB*, const gchar*, const gchar*)’
Any ideas?
Thanks
Why bother? I think people are smart enough to tell the difference between the two. I think its a fitting name, since cameras, at times, sit on a tripod. I say stick with it.

Tripod is now working on Kubuntu Edgy 64-bits after I updated to libgpod-svn version.

if you provide me with some better information, i might be able to do something about it. email me configure logs and any errors which you have.

I forget to say I suspect this is related to libgpod instead tripod itself.

Tripod is a big internet community also. Maybe you should consider changing the name of your application.

I agree with BorgQueen, I like thinking Linux users are smart enough to tell the difference! BTW, the program is nice!
