There is such a tool with both windows and linux versions with extensive legos palettes. Leocad (http://leocad.org) I find positioning the bricks on the isometric projection very difficult. My daughter tends to use a 2D base view. I will give opeke a try, see how well this one handles this problem
The idea is very cool but it would also be great if you manage to extend this app :) Especially for kids, to get visual blocks (circles and other shapes) and build something interesting with it
Circles and triangular shapes (for roofs) are already mostly done and will be in the next release.
