Description: This is a plugin for Kate which adds two buttons on the toolbar: "Run LaTeX" and optionally "View Output" (see first screenshot; of course you can add or remove these buttons in the "Configure Toolbars" dialog). The first button runs LaTeX (and runs BibTeX, MakeIndex, and reruns LaTeX if necessary; optionally the viewer is launched after this), the second button opens the output in the viewer of your choice. The paths to the executables can be modified in the Settings dialog (see second screenshot).Last changelog:

I am very new to this site and I do not know whether it is the right place to ask a question, but I am having trouble building the plugin. After cmake I get the following message:

Thank you very much. I could compile the plug-in following your suggestion. The problem now is that when I try to process a Latex file, Kate crashes. Is there any other piece I am missing?

why 2 buttons? On LyX I just press Ctrl+D, LyX starts latex AND opens the output. If the output was opened earlier, it will be updated by the DVI/PDF viewer. The same with TeXShop on Mac, where there is only one button to compile and view...

Hi, I had the same issues on Ubuntu but installing "kdesdk-dev-kde4" solved it. Hope that helps even if you don't use a debian based system. dcrabs
