Description: KDelayStart lets you specify some commands to launch when KDE is started and gives you a small delay to easily cancel their execution.
In concrete terms, it is useful if you usually want to automatically start applications like Kopete or Konversation, but don't sometimes (for example, because you don't want your contacts to see you connected when the clients autoconnect). You can also delay the launch of other applications like Compiz or Beryl if you don't need them.
Manual:
1. Start kdelaystart and write some commands (one per line) in the configuration dialog 2. Set a number of seconds before the commands are executed 3. Add "kdelaystart --countdown" in "~/.kde/Autostart"
The next time you start KDE, you will see a small icon with a countdown in the system tray. If you click on this icon before the end of the countdown, the commands will not be executed.

Followed instructions and next time KDE starts the Configuration Dialog appears (no icon in tray). If I close the dialog and manually start the link in Autostart, the countdown starts fine (and it does run the command as selected at the end of countdown).
I removed link in Autostart and still the Configuration Dialog opens when KDE starts (even if I choose not to restore the session).
Also found I lost few applications that used to autostart with KDE (Ksensors, ksmarttray, klineakconfig, Kerry Beagle Search).
It's a good thing I had a recent backup.
I tried "0.1-1.guru.suse10.2@" both i686 and x86_64. No difference.
well i m in holidays now (yay japan) but I will try to take a look when i come back

aniway, this was my first kde/qt apps, i will try to do a kde4 version with a plasmoid soon
I have installed everything and I have the countdown icon in the systray at startup, but it doesn't work. When I click it it disappear but all the processes start without obstacle.
I have arch linux latest release
I'm currently creating a Kubuntu package. Unfortunately there are some issues with the 0.1 tarball.
* never, _never_ create the makefiles with unsermake (i.e.
* you didn't run make distclean before making the tarball, so it's actually somewhat compiled
* you should replace your admin directory with the latest version from KDE SVN
* the source directry should be named kdelaystart-VERSION instead of just kdelaystart
I'd really appreciate if you fixed these issues as soon as possible
Hi,
I'm very glad that you want to create a kubuntu package but unfortunately, I'm really a beginner, especially for all the compilation/make... things :-/
So I don't know why I use unsermake by default, I though I ran "make distclean" with KDevelop (but obviously not), I don't know how to replace my admin directory with the latest version from KDE SVN and don't know how to rename the source directory...
Moreover, I deleted the content of the debug directory to make my tarball lighter... it compile but it was maybe an error ?
If you have some time to help me (maybe do the fixes and, even better, write me a few lines to explain me how you do this), I'll really appreciate and my future apps should be better :)
nb: if you do something, you can add the it.po located here : http://danakil.free.fr/linux/kdelaystart/po
(thanks to Lorenzo Combatti !). If you don't have the time, don't bother :-)
