no plans to make a KDE4 version?
Using VectorLinux 5.9rc1, which is based on slackware-current, the make process fails at the beginning. Here is the console output from the make process: Quote:vl59stdrc1:/~/firefoxqs/firefoxqs

The problem, as I see it, is that I'm being forced to use a specific version of aclocal and automake to generate the configure file for the admin directory. There should either be a more graceful way to tell me that I need a specific version of the automake tools, or there should be no check for a specific automake version.
I had the same problem as reported by sede on 10/29/2007. Here is what I did to solve it: Instead of letting Firefox Quickstarter start automatically at boot time* I made a shortcut for Kicker that starts first Firefox and then Quickstarter.** When using this shortcut first time after booting, Firefox need the regular time for starting. Beginning from the second time Quickstarter works. * The function 'start automatically with kde' didn't work for me anyway. I started it with ~/.kde/Autostart but it took much to long for starting and regularly it couldn't start Firefox. ** Here is the simple command I use: firefox; firefoxqs The order is important. If you would start firefoxqs first the shortcut wouldn't open Firefox when clicking on it first time after booting.
The program worked first when I installed it. Then I'have taken it into my KDE autostart script. On the next startup it broke the Firefox, the browser window appeared for a second then quited. It happened every time now on, when I wanted to start Firefox. When I killed firefox-bin it was working again normally.
firefoxqs-0.1.2 Hi it seems that firefoxqs and kmail / kwalletmanager autostart do not fit well together. firefoxqs seems to hide the passworddialogwindow. kmail hangs and can't be started any more. Only during shutdown the wallet-password dialog window pops up again - without borders - waiting for input starting firefoxqs AFTER kmail/kwalletmanager all seems to work fine.
Version 0.1.2 for Debian Unstable on my personal repository : http://download.tuxfamily.org/osrdebian/pool/unstable/extra/firefoxqs_0.1.2~imudebian0_i386.deb
Thank you works fine in Kubuntu Gutsy.

Thank you :)
yeah, sweet job man
make -f Makefile.cvs This Makefile is only for the CVS repository This will be deleted before making the distribution *** YOU'RE USING autoconf (GNU Autoconf) 2.60. *** KDE requires autoconf 2.53 or newer make[1]: *** [cvs] Error 1 make: *** [all] Error 2
In SUSE 10.1 compiles fine, but in openSUSE 10.2 doesn't and I don't know how to solve it :(
firefoxqs-0.1-S10K351.i586.rpm at http://home.tiscali.be/raoul.linux/downloadSuSE10.0.htm ENJOY !!!
This awesome little devil works perfect in KDE 3.5.1 except checking the "start automatically with KDE" context menu option has no effect, at least for me. And if you use this, [timesaving tip for fellow boneheads], you gotta remember to kill it when you restart your browser after installing a new extension.
Build for Fedora http://www.fedoraitalia.org/modules/wfdownloads/singlefile.php?cid=3&lid=45 Have a nice day.
A SlackWare 10.2 TGZ Package with SlackBuild script is ready to download!! http://www.slacky.it http://www.slacky.it/index.php?option=com_remository&Itemid=1&func=fileinfo&filecatid=733&parent=category
Autostart feature doesn't work. Show new navigator panel start's home directory in a new panel. When I managed to autostart this program my Firefox stopped displaying address bar. I'm working on Fedora Core 4.Firefox 1.5.rc1
If you are working with KDE just add a firfoxqs.desktop in your $home/.kde/Autostart subdirectory. You firfoxqs will be started with the KDE starting session
all it does right now is keep a version of firefox open in the background and stop any "visable" version I try to start.
Yes, as you can read in the description of the web page it's a dirty hack, it only runs a hidden instance of firefox. It's not he best way to do it but it could be useful for some people.
This might be a nice program but is it a good idea to keep more and more programs preloaded or half-preloaded? Boot times go up. Memory get used unnecessary. Isn't there other solutions? Thanks truelinux3114a for the great rpm-s
Many Thanks ....for your comments; It's my collaboration to Linux world... Nice day
I think you meant contribution.
