10I've been a fan of this excellent twin panel file manager for many years. It's the best twin panel file manager I've used in Linux and compares very well with any similar type of file manager used in that other operating system. Dolphin is great in KDE but Krusader is still my favourite.
For Solstice, my brother gave me a top end WD 2TB drive. Between Krusader (for compression directly to a directory) and sometimes I use peazip as well and luckbackup for the final transfer to the external backup drive..
I did a 1.1 TB backup in 6 hrs.
Not all the files where compressed, the DVD videos for example, where not.
Thank you to luckybackup, krusader and peazip. You guys rock!

If there isn't any Makefile, you may have forgotten to run cmake first. please have a look in our INSTALL file

Honestly, I'm surprised with stability of 2.0-beta1.
One thing though: Most icons are still KDE3 Crystal, I think it would be nice to set them to Oxygen in near future, for better integration with KDE4.
Everything else is fine by me. I feel it's stable as if I'm still using KDE3 version. ;)
I recently switched from windows to centos and I was badly missing Total Commander. It seems that I've found the solution :)
Even better as TC doesn't support sftp, so Krusader is actually a replacement for both TC and Winscp.

While testing various functions in my Dutch version, I came across the last option "zatarovat and zagzipovat" in the main toolbar. What does this function?
Krusader is awesome; I just wish it would incorporate a feature that would change the current directory view to the directory the user cd's into the terminal. The terminal cd's to any directory the user navigates to in the directory view, but the directory view does not navigate to any directory cd'd into the terminal. I just think this would be a nice additional feature.
Also, I think it would be nice if, when entering Krusader Root Mode, that instead of opening another window, it would open it in the same window and provide an option to end Krusader Root Mode and return to normal mode.
There seems to be a bug with the terminal emulator; it allows you to create a new tab but the tab doesn't actually switch, it just seems to open a renamed, duplicate link to the original one - i.e. if during installation of an app, you open another tab in the terminal, it continues showing the progress of the original tab and does not allow you to do anything until the first is complete.
Overall, ignoring minor bugs and whatnot, I give Krusader a 10/10; it's definitely the best file manager I've ever used.
Yet again, if it is possible, it would be nice if Krusader would incorporate a feature allowing the user to open kioslaves for Konqueror; it already provides the Konqueror menu.

9 Stable and well thought out. It's become nearly indispensable for me, and certainly one of the apps I use most--maybe more than my browser.

Krusader uses KIO from the beginning. Very KIO-slave you use with Konqueror works also with Krusader (and even in every KDE open/save dialog ;-))

Hi! I can't connect Krusader to ftp server using proxy with authority. It is my problem or krusader can't do that.
And if tell KDE proxy parameters, krusader's message is: "Unknown protocol "ftp://..."
