Description:
This applet controls killswitches and enables you to turn off or on radio devices. I designed that application to use the wireless toggle function key on my Lenovo laptop which has a single toggle function key for 3 devices (bluetooth, wifi and ultrawideband).

HELP:
-------
I am currently not succeeding in building RPM packages for Fedora and Mandriva. I don't use those distributions and it will take me quite a while to figure out how to fix my issue. If anyone could help me on the make install and the file locations for the plasmoid, I would be delighted to update my packages.
For build errors, check the logs of failed builds: https://build.opensuse.org/package/show?package=killswitch-manager&project=home%3Aqueden

Hi, real useful app, but on my Thinkpad T60p I get bluetooth two times in the applet plus Wifi. App shows me one WLAN and one BT checkbox, which is correct. Strange, because it seems to use the same list derived from asking HAL. Correct? It works fine on my Toshiba NB200, too I'm on suse 11.3 with KDE 4.5. beta Any suggestions? m0nk

Hi; Sorry for my late reply, I was some weeks on vacation. On my laptop I have two BT devices too; the one called hci0 and the other one lenovo_sl_bluetooth. I thought it was a special virtual device created by my lenovo_sl_laptop driver, because only one of these two will physically switch off the device. Furthermore, hci0 will only appear when the other BT device is enabled. (Unfortunately the applet does not update the device list; so sometimes the "virtual" BT is not shown. I will fix this in the next release.) Nevertheless; the applet just queries the devices with a "killswith" property from HAL; you're correct.

It works great. As it was yet said, plasma "dockable" applet would be perfect. Thanks, Giuseppe

Hi! Just wanted to let you know that I developed a plasma applet. It is still very basic but it works.

gmcgmc86

It's good. I'd use an icon instead of text for the plasmoid (or even better it should be configurable). Great work, Peppe

I forgot to say it works even in a sony vaio (model s11f7e) sadly I cannot contribute since I cannot code, but I can offer moral support ;)

denisq

Perfect, the more laptops supported, the more useful my applet! ;) Moral support is a kind of support, and a very pleasant one! ;)

pugacioff

great idea, thanks. could you implement this as a plasmoid? having this on panel would be even better.

denisq

Yes, it is on my feature plan! Just wanted to release a working version before extending it (systray, plasmoid). Thanks for your feedback!
