When I click on a link within Choqok I aspect it will be opened in the default browser (Opera in my case), but instead Konqueror is used.
I know that I can specify a custom browser in the options, but I think the use of the system setting is a better choice.
I have to agree that this app is the best Twitter client on Linux...
One quick question. I have a few (10,000+) followers on twitter... and Choqok seems to choke after 15-20 minutes. It feels like a GUI type of issue where it's trying to render 5,000+ tweets in the scrolling widget. What can be done to make Choquok operate more smoothly?
Decrease Number of posts to show in timeline
And remove the timelines you don't like from account management!

I'll give that a try... Surprisingly, dealing with lots of tweets doesn't choke other clients like Twhirl and Tweetdeck, so I'm sure there's a way... regardless, great app.
I'm getting this message "Retrieving the friends list failed.The data returned from the server is corrupted."
I'm using 2 twitter accounts on Choqok and I get that error on both.
What can it be done to solve this issue?

Look, Your friend is whom you follow, Open up Send Private message dialog, and reload friends list (It's empty for you)

But there are a few things, I would change in the GUI. Therefor I made two images: The first one shows some "problems" and the second is a mockup, in which I tried to solve those problems.

May I suggest integrating Twitlonger (http://www.twitlonger.com/) support? This is really becoming the best Twitter client on Linux period, but a feature like Twitlonger support puts it head and shoulders ahead of Gwibber.
it's already an awesome peace of software, but please include these two features soon:
1) shortening with private / own wespace tool from http://yourls.org/ or better an easy way to write new plugins for shortening providers.
2) global unified view: all dms, tweets, mentions etc. in one timeline.

This is very popular mikroblogging servis among Russia's It Community. It uses XMPP API (http://juick.com/help/api/ russian only). For use of this service enough jabber client, but it is not very convenient.

Many things on new version designed in a better way! and porting all of features to new design takes time! And this is why it labeled with Alpha ;)
