Description: ********************* OSSO DEVELOPMENT IS ENDED (I SWITCHED TO MAC OS X). I'M AVAILABLE TO PROVIDE ANY CLARIFICATION TO ALL INTERESTED DEVELOPERS TO CONTINUE THE PROJECT. *********************
Qt4 OSS 4.1 Mixer System Tray support Tested only on ArchLinux with Realtek ALC880/ALC888 audio cardLast changelog:
15/04/09: first release 04/05/09: version 0.2 18/05/09: version 0.3
Hi,
OSSO is (IMHO ) at the moment the most usable mixer interface for OSS.
But there's certainly room for improvement.
Suggestion 1)
In the default view ( the one that comes up when you press the OSSO icon with the left mouse button ) add the controls allow to customly drag your own controls in there.
This would allow users to adjust osso depending on their use pattern.
Suggestion 2)
Right now it's difficult to use osso without having at least 2-3 windows open.
The button control for the sections is quite awkward. Is it within your sense of HIG to close a popup when you press a section button again ?
E.g. pressing the jack button for the first time would open the additional window. There should be visual feedback on the individual section buttons as well to tell which button you actually pressed. And if you press that button again this popup could then close.
P.S. Since we're running OSSv4 out of the box I am really keen to follow up on this!
for now, the OSS audio drivers state is ridiculous ...
Osso is a project to improve the scandalous GUI
of Ossxmix ..
if you want to continue Osso development is good .. for me Linux is closed ... i'm developing on Mac OS X
cheers
Compiles and works on kubuntu 9.04 kde 4.2.3 latest oss-stable
I've disabled all unneeded soundcards through oss config and picture with controls is much better now.
But there is room for improvement:
1. unreadable fonts in some osso widgets:

2. more actions with tray icon:
- open osso on double click
- ability to hide osso into tray instead of exit without confirmation dialog
- shortcuts to control volume and mute
3. there is no man file for osso
would be nice to have.
Thanks for your work.
Compiles and works on kubuntu 8.10 kde 4.2.2 latest oss-stable
But I am a little bit lost with controls.
