* ArtificePrime sent in updated script with this comment:
---------------
It now supports all of CBC's much-hyped 50+ web radio stations, Radio 1, Radio 2 (including international Eastern and Pacific), Radio 3, and Sonica. Plus I gave it a nice alpha-channel icon of the CBC logo.

I tested it with Amarok 2.80 on KDE 4.11 and it all works. Thank you ArtificePrime!

While I like listening to CBC Music streams, several of the streams are 'limited play' and are replaced every couple of months. While they reuse the addresses, so you can still access some of them, you still have them labelled as the Christmas music streams and you cannot access the stream for this years "Spotlight" contest.
For some buggy reason Amarok prior to 2.8.0 won't resolve the Radio 1 stream URLs (I'm using 2.7.1 on KDE 4.10.5). If this applies to you and you're unable/unwilling to upgrade KDE/Amarok right now but still determined to listen to these channels, try this: Add the stream you want to your playlist. Using Halifax as an example, the playlist entry should say something like Stream (http://3383.live.streamtheworld.com:80/CBC_R1_HFX_H_SC) Mouse click on the box to get a text cursor and select just the URL (the "http://" part onwards) up to BUT NOT INCLUDING "_SC". Take a copy (CTRL+C) of this. http://3383.live.streamtheworld.com:80/CBC_R1_HFX_H Then, under the Playlist menu choose Add Stream... Paste (CTRL+V) your copied URL into the dialog box. The resulting entry should now resolve correctly and play.
Hi gstnet, are you still interested in maintaining this script? I ask because, while I'm not, I have taken the liberty of updating the whole thing. It now supports all of CBC's much-hyped 50+ web radio stations, Radio 1, Radio 2 (including international Eastern and Pacific), Radio 3, and Sonica. Plus I gave it a nice alpha-channel icon of the CBC logo. Everything works perfectly except the Radio 1 channels (which is odd because they play fine if I run their source URLs through mplayer off my terminal). Anyway, let me know if you're interested, and I'll email you a tarball of my changes.
yay a cbc-bundle!!! most certainly makes me happy over here in germany. thank you very much for taking the time to put this together.
Nice! Are you submitting it upstream?
Sorry, no idea where "upstream" is.

The address for London is wrong. When I select it, I get Whitehorse. Makes for a discouraging weather forecast at this time of year.
Thanks, I just uploaded fixed script.

Is this available for KDE 3.5.10?
This is Amarok 2.x script. So if amarok 2.x can run on KDE 3.5.10, this will work too. If not, you are out of luck. Still, this is just list of streams and you do not really need this script to listen to them in your favourite media player.
Thank You!
