hi! im spanish, so i can't speak english very well. i would like to know how were you able to make the rectangular box in tray? the one where the clock is put in... i've tried a lot of things but i was not able... if u were so kind y would like you to say all the modifications u've done to the theme and kde... i've installed taskbar2,systray2 and crystal theme as you. i think you've done a very beautifull work. thanks for all and sorry because of my poor english :D im using kde 3.4.0. but i tried it with 3.3.x too.
that is not a box. with the system tray, if you hide some icons, it makes a line. if you look, that line does not go around the whole clock.
however, if you rightclick on the clock and go to configure, check the frame box under display, and that makes a box around your clock.
You need to use xcompmanager for that. You should probably ask this question on a forum for your distro(or google around and find out for yourself) because it really depends on your hardware and distro.
Really ?? Well I must be dreaming cause my taskbar looks translucent.
Right Click on taskbar > Configure Panel > Click the 'appearance' tab > Check the 'enable transparency' box > Click on 'Advanced Options' > Use the slider to make it more or less transparent as you like it > Click OK !
Is this too difficult for you ??
Sheesh !!
Hi forghoon. Here's how you get a translucent taskbar/panel:
1. Right click on the panel.
2. Choose 'Configure Panel'.
3. Click on the 'Appearance' tab.
4 Down the bottom of the next window you will see a 'Panel Background' section - Check the 'Enable Transparency' box and click on 'Advanced Options'.
5.Use the 'tint amount' slider to determine how much transparency you want.
6.Click ok, ok... Enjoy !

i installed mtaskbar but i still dont get the transparent taskbar !! can anyone help ???
well you need to remove the current taskbar and do add-applet and put in taskbar v2
Aah K. My misunderstanding. You can make the panel transparent but not minimised tabs. For that you do need v2. Apologies.
