Vanilla theme for DigiKam/Kipi HTML Export
Source (link to git-repo or to original if based on someone elses unmodified work):
The theme features a grid layout for the thumbnails with a soft drop-shadow on the images. There are various color presets available. It can also optionally use Lytebox (by Markus F. Hay http://www.dolem.com/lytebox/) to display the images in a slideshow.
The first screenshot shows the collection grid using the "Ivory" color scheme while the second uses the "White on Black" scheme. The third screenshot shows the full image page using the "Charcoal" color scheme.
Note: I developed this theme using features in the new kipi-plugins 1.4.0. The theme is not compatible with kipi-plugins older than version 1.4.0.
Installation:
To install (at least on Kubuntu or Fedora):
Current user only:
untar this file to:
~/.kde/share/apps/kipiplugin_htmlexport/themes/
All users (requires root):
untar this file to:
/usr/share/apps/kipiplugin_htmlexport/themes/
09/05/2007: (Version 1.3.0)
* If collection is divided into multiple pages, the lytebox slideshow contains all images in the collection, not just the images on the current page.
07/28/2007: (Version 1.2.0)
* Drop shadows can be disabled in the options.
07/27/2007: (Version 1.1.0)
* Added Lytebox integration. The full images can now be viewed as Lytebox overlays on top of the thumbnails page (instead of loading a new page for each image).
* Fixed some minor XHTML validation errors.
07/26/2007: (Version 1.0.0)
* Initial release.

This is a great HTML Gallery theme. The best one around currently. It should (and I really mean it) be shipped by default with digiKam. The default themes suck and look plain and ugly. I'd rather replace all those sloppy themes that come with digiKam by default with only this one of yours. I also dare to suggest that you replace single image page template with something more like... something that looks pretty similar to the gallery listing template (index.html). JS is cool and all but it sorta breaks the consistency of the design. I'd love a simple page with a pic in the center of a page (both horizontal and vertical alignment). Perhaps a scaled up version of a single box (with/-out a number where a thumbnail pic is placed) you get to see on index.html would do. Anyway, this is the greatest digiKam HTML Gallery theme currently and you've done it just well :)
This one, as well as the elegant theme, are really great. Clean but professional looking and very functional. I was wondering if it would be possible to include some of the exif or even better IPTC data of each image in a box underneath each picture. Would be great if one could chose which data to include from a list of exif or IPTC fields, I suppose. Nevertheless a very fine addition to digikam indeed. Keep up the great work! Cheers Juergen
Thanks for the comments! I've wanted to include EXIF functionality as well, but it turns out that its not possible to do currently within a HTML export theme because that information is not passed down to the theme when exporting a gallery. You should submit a feature request at bugs.kde.org to add this ability. If you post the bug number back here I'll certainly vote for it too. cheers, -w
Another very nice theme. Good job wjarosz! Keep 'em coming :) LocoMojo
I really love Digikam, i haven't used so wonderfull application for long time (i have used lightroom what is best for windows IMHO, and aperture, ACDsee, Picasa etc etc..) and there are still few things what needs polishing or options what needs to be added but its great. Digikam really needs these new layouts for HTML exports and for others styles too. And i liked few of those pictures too and it would be nice to have one "raw" picture here what to use. Of course if you dont like to send "raw" version, it gould be nice to get somekind wallpaper made of that :-)
Thanks for the comments. I actually don't have a RAW version of those pictures because I took those before I bought a digital SLR (they were taken with a tiny Canon point-and-shoot). But I'll see what I can do about posting one of them as a wallpaper. Cheers.
those photos are awesome, could you post some of them full sized?
