how would I go about installing this on kubuntu 5.04? I tried the link above (bootsplash) but I am still confused
Nice job! What do you think about to change the place of "press f2" message? Less visible...

Less visible... hmm, I will think about that... in the meantime you can change this yourself, just edit the config/bootsplash-800x600.cfg and change text_x, text_y, text_size and text_color ... if you remove these entries, the message may even disappear (but I am not sure about this) ...
