you can use my guide... for archlinux: http://linuax.wordpress.com/2009/09/15/arch-linux-bootsplash-fbsplash/ if you use slackware you can use: http://linuax.wordpress.com/2009/01/20/bootsplash-grafico-su-slackware-gnulinux/ and you can convert this theme for bootsplash patch with http://linuax.wordpress.com/2010/01/15/conversione-tema-bootsplash-in-fbsplash-bootsplash2fbsplash/ It'is explained in detail on my blog.. greetings
