might be, but I only have and use KDE as DE, besides that - why even show gentoo if all you daily see is KDE :D KDE is much more visible than gentoo when using your computer. so it really makes sense to show it. btw I'd love to see a similar grub splash and theme...

Do you think you could maybe take out the KDE logo?
Don't listen to the nay-sayers, the KDE logo is what makes this fbsplash unique. I'm sure there's plenty of generic Gentoo splashs already.
But the boot-up sequence has nothing to do with KDE.
