Description: A X11 cursor theme inspired by the classical DMZ theme. The main differences are: no subtle grey in the cursors, different spinners for waiting and progress, and more cursor forms like zoom-in, all-scroll or vertical text. There’s a white and a black variant.
The default spinner is a windmill, but with the source at https://github.com/charakterziffer/cursor-toolbox three alternatives could be build. Update (28 February 2020): All other cursors (windmill, ring, rotor) are now also available for direct download (each in black and white)
To install unpack the desired zip package and copy the theme folder to /usr/share/icons (system-wide) or ~/.icons (for one user only). Then choose the theme in your system's settings manager.

Black version without shadows
On request I made the default black version but without that subtle shadow
Thanks für your comment, ev-b! Actually I thought about an origami pinwheel when I designed the windmill spinner (with slightly different angles to make it less quadratic).
With the source files on https://github.com/charakterziffer/cursor-toolbox you have the possibility to use one of the three alternative cursors. If you need any help, please let me know.
Excellent theme. I've been using Hackneyed for years but I'm going to switch to this one. IMO the hourglass or ring animations are more interesting than the default (windmill), so thanks for sharing the source and letting us customize it.

Love it! This cursor set has the most consistent design compared to others!
Your comment means a lot to me, microtribute! I find it very important that a cursor set follows a common design pattern. Thank you!

I like this quite a bit, although the windmill is a little swastika-y

I'm definitely going to steal that half-busy hourglass animation.
