Please port this to KDE Plasma 6!
works fine for me https://github.com/taj-ny/kwin-effects-forceblur
10 Avesome work. I've been testing it for a while, and it seam to work very nicely.
On KDE 5.25.5, it seems that the blur stops if a new tab is opened? I have yakuake and if I switch tabs or open a new one, it is transparent, but not blurred.
10 10 the best This should be integrated by the KDE Team - essential for transparency not to look utterly crap.

Love that you fixed the shadows on gtk programs. However is there anyway to blur firefox without blurring the web view.
I got the program to blur successfully if I have Spotify open. but when I close and reopen, the blur effect disappears and I have to manually reapply the script again. Is there a workaround for this? (Thank you for your work)

10 10 the best Is something with similar functionality possible in wayland? Or could be possible in future?
Is there anyway to get rid of the blur thats outside gtk program windows?
I just updated the script. It now comes with an option called "Blur only content of window", which solves this exact problem. This was implemented some time ago, but, due to how it works, it might cause some performance issues, so I had to test it extensively. It has been perfectly fine, so I'm pushing it now, but will disable it by default due to the risk.
10 It works a treat.
10 Very well done script! Thanks for sharing it :)

This is intended for people not understanding why the configure option is not available after installing "Force Blur". Apparently the owner of the package forgot to mention that it's required from the user to execute two commands, which are mentioned below, for the configure button to appear next to the about button. Execute the following commands: 1. mkdir -p ~/.local/share/kservices5/ 2. cp ~/.local/share/kwin/scripts/forceblur/metadata.desktop ~/.local/share/kservices5/forceblur.desktop
Sorry for the inconvenience. Somehow Pling stopped displaying README.md from the git repository. I restored the option.
