Movie collections are stored in a completely platform independent way, so you can watch them or edit them wherever you want.
And now, the most important thing: Movida is completely free!
Don't think it's just free to download, it comes without any charge!
Movida is open source software, this means you can get it for free, you can send it to your friends and, if you are a programmer, you can download the source code and maybe fix bugs or add other features, as long as you do respect the terms of the GNU General Public License version 2 or later.
Movida is cross-platform: it runs on noth Microsoft Windows XP and Linux operating systems.
Support and testing is only done on Microsoft Windows XP and Linux, but it may run on different versions of Microsoft Windows and it may be built successfully on Mac OS X.
Movida is currently under heavy development. Available sources are for preview only.
Please do not blame if Movida does not build or run, if it crashes or if features are missing, broken or incomplete.

this looks useful. could we have a similar app for cd collections as well please?
sure, it's already planned :) i will start working on applications for managing cd and book collections as soon as development of movida is in a more advanced state. i din't have lots of free time this last two months, so it will take some more time (i hope movida will be almost completed for the last quarter of this year).
