So is born again after the author this theme (horst3180) not yet updated for 3 years a go.
However this theme based on GTK-3.22, tested under Debian 9 Stretch Gnome edition for GTK-3 and for GTK-2 (mainly Goal) tested using MX-Linux 18.2 Continuum XFCE desktop.
When edited this theme I get lots of bug on GTK-2 and fixed it, for example is font (name folder) out of center on Thunar file manager, Checked toolbar button got fixed too.
Now.....all border button Hover/Prelight is work on GTK-3 and GTK-2 also Checkbox-Checked, Radio, Mixed images have Hover/Prelight too.
And also i change menuitem button color from #4080FB to #3266FB just to get fresh hovering and then for window button menu change to new result.

10 !10 the best 1 Of the best GTK3 themes I ever used! is this project still being updated? Thank you very much ETLES-TEAM.
10 Thank you for updating the Vertex theme. I miss themes with some character - gradients, shadows, texture. The flat design trend is a tragedy.
10 10 Definitely one of the best dark themes around (for my taste). It's not easy to make a theme in which all elements can are cleary distinguishable ("readability"). This one nails it.

10 10 the best In order to make it perfect in Xfce = https://erikdubois.be/how-to-completely-install-all-aspects-of-the-vertex-dark-theme-on-linux-mint-17-3/
At least in Xfce no other theme is even close to this. Consistent and well designed in most details. "Flat" is sometimes just an excuse. Is harder to hide flaws in a non-flat theme.
Just for reference if another user has the same issue one day: I don't remember exactly why but I kept the habit to install custom themes to ~/.local/share/themes in my old Ubuntu 16.04. But I have a backup of my old system and while browsing it today I see that I had created a ~/.themes symlink pointing to ~/.local/share/themes. Im'not sure but even then, I may have done this trick to fix the DC theme. So now I've tried to copy your theme's directory to ~/.themes on my current system, and... the magic happened ! I've now moved all my installed themes to this directory instead of my unclear symlink trick, so the apps already impacted by these themes before the change are still properly styled, and the only app to ignore the system theme is now as beautiful as the rest. The solution was so simple. And the cause was just... my own mistake. Apologies. Happy end. And thanks again for your work on this theme ! :)
10 Great work, thanks a lot for sharing it with us. Anyway I don't use it yet on my Ubuntu 19.04 because of incompatibility with my very favorite file manager (Double Commander aka. doublecmd-gtk, installed through apt, not by snap or appimage). I don't understand what makes a dark theme work with this application or not but I see that Starlabs and Adwaita-dark are theming it perfectly. I don't know the difference with a theme like yours nor which files should be included or modified, sorry to be of no help. Do you think that this issue with Double Commander could be fixed? I would be glad to use this theme as I really like it. And it may be my fault but unfortunately I can't at least get the same result as intro18, who shared this picture of Double Commander theming with Vertex-Dark on his system > https://i.imgur.com/J0fdgCX.png. Here's a concrete example on my computer: Vertex Dark > https://i.imgur.com/wtR3N0J.png StarLabs Dark > https://i.imgur.com/FGDgJHI.png Packages installed (all from the official Ubuntu repositories): gtk2-engines gtk2-engines-pixbuf gtk2-engines-murrine murrine-themes doublecmd-common doublecmd-gtk doublecmd-help-en doublecmd-plugins I've posted a message on application's forum to get more informations about the files to customize but nobody answered for now > https://doublecmd.sourceforge.io/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5769
v1.2 archive misses gnome-shell folder
and the issue with text colors in Double Commander still exists..(
@intro18 do you've installed double commander cmd gtk in your system? If not, try to installed it first :)
