I couldn't get this to work on KDE Plasma 6 at first but, finally figured it out. You open a terminal in the folder, where you extracted the files at. Run this command and it converts it to the metadata.json file that's needed to work properly:
desktoptojson -i metadata.desktop
For whatever reason it gave me an error but, it still works fine. Manually move the folder to here: /home/USERNAME/.local/share/plasma/look-and-feel/ (Might be different for everyone I'm assuming). I set it in the 'Splash Screen' settings and it's working great!

10Hi ! On my laptop, after a second, the animation stops for a while (until the desktop loads). Do you know where this issue may come from ? Also, when I'm displaying my screen on a monitor, there isn't any problem.
Would it be possible to get this with a jet black background? It look like even the animation gif has a greyish background so I don't think I can make it all black just from the QML file.
