Description:
A GTK, xfwm4, openbox-3, and GNOME-Shell - Dark Mode Theme - Based on the Official Color Pallet Created by Ethan Schoonover.

Brought back to the GUI by popular demand, Solarized-Dark - as originally created by Ethan Schoonover - is the highly valued color scheme for code editors and terminal emulators. This GTK and GNOME-Shell dark-mode-scheme strictly adheres to Ethan Schoonover's original color scheme, which has been published for many major applications, with some including the scheme pre-installed. Coders and GUI users, alike, know that - once you try Solarized-Dark - it is hard to go back to anything else.

In His Own Words:

"Solarized is a sixteen color palette (eight monotones, eight accent colors) designed for use with terminal and gui applications. It has several unique properties. I designed this colorscheme with both precise CIELAB lightness relationships and a refined set of hues based on fixed color wheel relationships. It has been tested extensively in real world use on color calibrated displays (as well as uncalibrated/intentionally miscalibrated displays) and in a variety of lighting conditions." https://ethanschoonover.com/solarized/

The GTK, xfwm4, openbox-3, and GNOME-Shell theme represents a careful blending of modernized Numix elements, in tandem with those of minimalist artist Rafa Capoci, icon designer Wojciech Kalinowski, and full-stack web-developer/themer Pavel Agarkov, with an overlay of the original standard Solarized theming created by Ethan Schoonover.

Chose from either the Complete-Desktop file or the three separate GTK-desktop, icons, or cursor files.

Manual Installation Is Easy:

For themes: 1) Extract the "tar.xz" file into your "~/.themes/" folder - to install for current user only - or into the "/usr/share/themes/" folder - for the theme to be applied globally. 2) Use the GNOME Tweak Tool or an equivalent app to enable it for your desktop.

If installing manually, make sure to install the dependency: "Murrine theme engine" if you do not already have it; and update your GTK+packages if you have not.

For icons: 1) Extract the "tar.xz" file into your "~/.icons/" folder - to install for current user only - or into the "/usr/share/icons/" folder - for the icons and folders to be applied globally. 2) Use the GNOME Tweak Tool or an equivalent app to enable them for your desktop.

For Cursors: 1) Same as with the icons, extract the "tar.xz" files into your "~/.icons/" folder - to install for current user only - or into the "/usr/share/icons/" folder - for the cursors to be applied globally. 2) Use the GNOME Tweak Tool or an equivalent app to enable them for your desktop.

Logging out and then logging back in may be necessary on some operating systems to fully implement themes, icons, and cursors.

10 I love the Solarized theme! Works great with Gnome.

I think it's great that you made this beautiful theme. If you are not interested, I would like to suggest you the most appropriate logo for this theme. I am depending on you all to give me some light on what I should use for KDE or GTK appliances in the operating system that my loved ones do for me. It will be an ongoing quest to figure out what is really needed. I don't want him to think I'm crazy so I'll be up to you. B

Thank you for making this theme available to us 'all-nighters!' There really is something magic about the hues vis-a-vis this color palette, but your attention to detail in employing it is amazing! Can I persuade you to make some wallpaper, or did I just miss it? Thanks again!

You update your themes approximately once a week, but on the github page there are no changes for 2 MONTHS, how is this possible? How could someone check and see what the changes are in the updates?, Also you can not because on the github page with your themes there is only pure zip file.

Thanks for your reply. Earlier I stated I was on Debian 1.0.0 Jessie LTS, XFCE4 + XFWM4, that is not 100% accurate. I am running Devuan 2.0, which is a fork of Debian, equivalent to 1.0.0 Jessie LTS (only difference is no systemD.) During the install, I selected the Default Devuan Environment from Tasksel. This version of XFCE has Devuan logos and maybe modifications to XFCE? I don't notice anything different besides Devuan wallpaper. Tasksel also has another option, just "XFCE" - not exactly sure what that option includes. It is XFCE4 + Xfwm4, just wanted to be specific and provide details since you responded. Thanks!

I installed the theme, icon pack and mouse points on debian 1.0.0 Jessie LTS, XFCE4 + Xfwm4. I then installed Murrine theme engine 0.98.1.1-6 in synaptic. The window borders / title bar have a strange white border around them, aren't being displayed properly. Any idea why? I can't figure it out. Please see screenshot, thanks: imgur.com/a/YnYExkq

That's a weird one - it's not doing that to any of that to our testers' XFCE4 + Xfwm4. I'll have to see what's different about your Debian setup. It really is the very first time XFCE has had those white lines that I've heard of; so please give me a day or so to dig in. We'll get your box perfect.
