Description: ***THE WORK ON THIS THEME IS CEASED DUE TO UPCOMING BREEZE EVOLUTION***
Materia meets Breath: GTK themes generated to match Kvantum ones. All credits to Manjaro and Materia themes developers: https://gitlab.manjaro.org/artwork/themes/breath https://github.com/PapirusDevelopmentTeam/materia-kde https://github.com/nana-4/materia-theme
Kvantum files are here: https://www.pling.com/p/1270259/
Plasma color schemes: https://www.pling.com/p/1332011/
Notes: 1) These themes are supplementary stuff generated with change_color.sh script and edited by hand after that just to match my custom MateriaBreath Kvantum themes for Plasma. 2) Compatibility with Cinnamon / Mate is NOT guaranteed (there are known issues). 3) My main focus is on Gnome Shell / GTK3 looks, everything based on GTK2 will NOT look the same as something based on GTK3. 4) Previous changelog is available on Kvantum theme page. "2019" themes are based on 20190315 Materia theme release in order to preserve old behavior of active/inactive window header tones. Black frames and unresizeable borders fixes are backported, thanks to @nana-4 for that. 2019 version shouldn't be used as shell theme, it's only for apps, but the latest ones look very good when used as Gnome shell theme.Last changelog:
10OMG this theme is exceptional. Thanks. One suggestion would be to improve tabs in GTK2. The tab in focus would be better with a different tab color background (instead of having a simple green underline)
I do mean GTK2, here is a screenshot comparing MateriaBreath on a GTK2 app named Audacious. Screenshot: https://imgur.com/XTva7WP
You can see that the current tab is more obviously visible on other themes.
Aha, I got it. So far I found a way to implement it in GTK3, will try to do the same for GTK2. Btw I has no such problem with Audacious since it is QT-based in my distro and looks dope with my Kvantum theme where I've done what you're asking for long ago because I had exactly the same thoughts on this topic as you :)
Seems to identify itself as materia-compact:
[Desktop Entry]
Type=X-GNOME-Metatheme
Name=Materia-compact
Comment=A Material Design theme
Encoding=UTF-8
[X-GNOME-Metatheme]
GtkTheme=Materia-compact
MetacityTheme=Materia-compact
IconTheme=Adwaita
CursorTheme=Adwaita
CursorSize=24
I don't get the light toolbar as shown in your picture.
Displays like regular Materia to me, but with teal highlights.
Yeah that's the way it should be:
1. It's basically Materia theme with teal accent and some slight color amendments (like replacement of pure eye-piercing white with more soft white-grey).
2. These themes were generated with Materia's `change_color.sh` script. This is not a thorough rework of the original theme. The name "materia-compact" derives from the style selected during the script run. I can select regular or both if you want.

yes, I agree, that would look dope
I assume you meant GTK3 or even 4, right?

And yeah, screenshots were not updated. Sorry, folks, these themes are based on git version anyway, no reason to consider them the final release.
