6 Klassy is better imho. Lightly is overrated.

What are you talking about! Klassy provides awesome title bar styles but not the application style. Although it has an application style but that is just a clone of default breez style. Lightly provides the overall ui elemet styles. I use both!

Look closer. While based on Breeze, the Klassy application style is not "just a clone of the default breeze style". Klassy application style has the best scrollbars on any platform - minimal, yet with arrows which integrate properly (unlike those on Windows 10/11 with silly gaps where the arrows are, and far better than those in Breeze). Klassy application style also doesn't have excessive roundness and allows you to adjust corner radius of all elements, allows translucent headers and matches any window decoration buttons you set in docks and MDI panels. IMO Klassy application style is more polished and practical than both Lightly and Breeze.

deltacopy

Klassy provides more customization, tailoring a set of users who like the Breeze theme but wish to have a more granular control. The purpose of Lightly and any derivative forks are to keep the UI clean and minimalist as possible, some users do not want to be burdened with excessive over-configuration features.

Sidebar transparency not working plasma 5.27.8, sliders do nothing when position is changed and applied then if you go out and then click back in to settings nothing can be applied as button doesn't activate.

looks lovely, installed without error via git and cmake but mousing over Lightly in KDE System Settings > Appearance > Window Decorations causes Settings to crash in OpenSUSE Tumbleweed.

I think Plasma needs an application style like Lightly. I mean, there is Breeze Evolution, and it is fantastic. It is great for new users who want to feel safe and at home. But Lightly shows what's possible. And it shows how beautiful Plasma can look. I think it is important to show that to the outside world too... It should be a standard option.

Is this project dead? I mean it is beautiful, but haven't see any update since a year

10 This is the future of plasma, I hope it is integrated into breeze or something.

I have downloaded the file from this site, I have followed the instructions from https://github.com/Luwx/Lightly/ as for Ubuntu, but none of them helped me install Lightly. What am I doing wrong? Sorry, I'm not an expert in Linux. Could you help me? I'd like to use Lightly!!

rafaelking

Everything went well from: sudo apt install build-essential libkf5config-dev libkdecorations2-dev libqt5x11extras5-dev qtdeclarative5-dev extra-cmake-modules libkf5guiaddons-dev libkf5configwidgets-dev libkf5windowsystem-dev libkf5coreaddons-dev libkf5iconthemes-dev gettext qt3d5-dev to: git clone --single-branch --depth=1 https://github.com/Luwx/Lightly.git cd Lightly

rafaelking

But after that, I got errors

nicholasdev

so did you have errors with Git or with cmake?
