Description: StepMania is an advanced cross-platform rhythm game for home and arcade use. It was originally developed as a clone of Konami's arcade game series Dance Dance Revolution, and has since evolved into an extensible rhythm game engine capable of supporting a variety of rhythm-based game types.
Notes: This is only to provide an AppImage for Linux 64-bits, I am not the developer of this game. This version does NOT have a loading window because it was compiled without GTK (makes it easier to distribute as an AppImage ).
By default, StepMania will create a directory named ".stepmania-5.0" inside your Home folder. This is where you'll want to install songs, themes, noteskins, etc. For example:
Optionally, you can modify the "Preferences.ini" file located in the Save directory to add a custom songs folder or additional folders.Last changelog:
AppImage update 2
Version 5.1 Beta 2 has been added as an AppImage alongside 5.0.12. Additionally, both versions were compiled without GTK to make it easier to distribute as AppImages.
i probably will not play this does this let you configure controls, basically directional inputs, if you connect a dance platform to a machine, it recognizes as a joystick by USB for example and let it configure into it? just saw a page with a platform for sale.
Yes, you can configure controls in StepMania. Basically, any USB gamepad or dance pad will work as long as your main system (Windows, Linux, etc) recognizes it as a joystick or gamepad.
i am asking this since i am not seeing the controller configuration settings in the pic, like a top menu, normally like emulators, it does find your gamepad but you have to manually set each button since it differs from each controller in the market.
