Description: This is a simplified fork of Kickoff which is KDE Plasma 5 Desktop's default Application launcher. The design is minimalized without compromising on power and important features.
Powerful Plasma Search The search bar uses Plasma Search, which is the same search provider used in the default Kickoff, Krunner and the Overview effect which supports powerful plugins.
NOTE: The initial codebase was copied from Kickoff which can be found in /usr/share/plasma/plasmoids/org.kde.plasma.kickoff/, on every Linux system that has KDE Plasma installed.
8I really like this but would love some options for the size of the icons in the grid. On windows I can see a lot more applications at once, but the icons and text are very large here.
10A better option for the application launcher with the `favorites` category than the default Kickoff. I switched to this widget from Simple Menu that no longer display the `Favorites` category.
In this widget, you can set the number of the columns, so when the value is large and you have only 3 rows of favorite apps, the mouse doesn't accidentally open other categories, though an option to put the category list at the right side still would be better.
Thank you for the widget!
Hi could you allow favorites to be arranged freely in the grid instead of "everything can only shuffle right?" I don't care if that leaves blank slots that's better than rearranging everything any time something gets added or removed...Also would like it to be scalable please?
10From 3 standard launchers, all have issues
- Application Menu (A launcher based on cascading popup menus),
apart from general incovenience of cascading (IMHO), did not find session and power-related commands (logout, reboot, shutdown)
- Application Laucher: extremly annoying behavor: you start typing, a list of options appear, and the one below mouse gets automatically selected, so if you press enter, result depends on the position of mouse while typing the query.
- Application Dashboard. ok, no more silly auto-focusing the entry below mouse, but it does not display files (e.g. recent files) in search results when searching from keyboard. This is the option I've been using so far.
This one, Simple Application Launcher, has non of the issues of the above!
Dear Author, thank you! The widget looks simple, which is a good thing btw, yet does its work well.
33 - Failure to launch 'Custom Keyboard Shortcuts).
Application Launcher 2.0 and Application Dashboard can do this by going cus - and directly open the 'Custom Keyboard Shortcut' page in settings.
Sorry, I don't see the relevance. It has the same issue the original Application Launcher had for me... I can't just type 'cus' and hit an arrow to select.

9 Please, add an option to show the menu like WIn 11 (lower center)

I will try to implement it. Thanks for the suggestion.
This feature has been added in version 2.5
