04122004 first realise to install this service menu, copy the desktop file in: $HOME/.kde/share/apps/konqueror/servicemenus/ to use it for the current user or in $KDEDIR/share/apps/konqueror/servicemenus/ for all the users. You can also use this good service menu to install it: http://kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=11435. To extract easier the compressed archive you could use this service: http://kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=13544 This service menu doesn't use ark to compress files or directory but tar, zip and rar.

If I use this to compress an existing tar file I get a tar.tar.bz2 file. Why not a bz2 and gz option?
support for UNIX compress (Z) would be cool aswell... Keep up the good work.
