Description: This item is a part of Steam-Powered Linux KDE theme set.
The idea is to apply steampunk style to every themeable part of KDE-based distro. Any constructive feedback is highly appreciated. I will try to implement your propositions/fix bugs once I have spare time.
You can see KDM and KSplash demo video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f3ubaXe8wDE New video will be recorded as soon as the majority of work is done.Last changelog:
04/12: Styled pager, system tray and several other items. Added new icons
You have basically done what I've been trying to accomplish using conky. Although I would prefer something between what I've got, and what you have. Is there some way to make the Disk Readout, the Weather, and maybe another item or two transparent, or at least so they don't cover up the wallpaper so much. I would really like to use this theme, and may try it anyway, but like I said I was really hoping for something more transparent. I actually have used most of the rest of what I think is your Steampunk theme, I just changed the wallpaper a little. Here is a screenshot of what I have, if you notice on the right side of the screen the conky is a little too transparent, I haven't figured out what colors to make the text, I don't know anything about using the color numbers, I just say red or blue, not 256daoc;e5, or whatever.

Oh and for mouse pointer, if one likes, Constantine by GrynayS goes well with the Steampunk set:

This is a boldly unique theme and I appreciate that a lot, even if it isn't as versatile as many others. Too many are black/gray or mixes of such themes. I love gray, but, y'know. Variety is good.
Any chance of a plamsa them for the Light variant? It could be versatile, working with a lot of nature or woodsy backdrops as well. Or perhaps you'd be interested in doing a "cabin" rustic or woodsy theme? You have a good start with these themes.
There aren't many icons that go well with this theme; the default Oxygen really clashes. Old style Ubuntu (a shiny orange with a lot of browns) and Wood Icons are a better fit with this theme. Users might try those.
For fonts, the suggestion of Century Schoolbook L is ok, but just going Serif instead of Sans-Serif might work too.
Again, thanks to Paladin-MMX for sharing this unique theme.
That's awesome work, now my desktop is as homely as a wooden hut with a thick carpet on the floor and a chimney crackling in the corner :)
To round the theme out, I'd suggest Century Schoolbook L as system font. It fits perfectly.
Greetings
Erik
I relay like these theme.
One problem i found there is no border in floating Krunner. But maybe it could be some problem with my system. (The same problem I have with slim-glow, however air and oxygen works fine). Comparing to Air i see there is no margin hints in krunner.svgz but i not sure if it is related.
What I'd change is there are some "glassy" elements that don't (imho) fit well with the rest of theme. I mean e.g. (desktops in pager, midle-bar in panel settings and in notification list. In 2nd case I'd use stone texture like in kickoff.
I also miss monochromatic icons for ktp im status, but I have no idea how to make monochromatic icons for that.
Thank you for your feedback! I'll check what could it be with KRunner. I had no such issue on my Kubuntu 12, but I saw this on another PC with ArchLinux.
You are right, pager and middle bar are not themed yet. I'll do this in the next update.
If application used setIconByName function, its icon in tray can be themed. I'll check if it is so for ktp. If there any other icons for tray that you would like to be themed, please let me know.
KMail and Akregator but I know they don't use setIconByName right now. How about KGPG?
I forget to say that in X-bar hovered menu's text is hard to read. Light text on light background. Cold be do something with that?
BTW. I would like to have one more thing: yaquake theme. Do you have any plans about that?

Thank you :) I'm glad you liked it. Yes, fonts are very important to make theme look and feel right. I will try your advice, thanks!
