Brought back to the GUI by popular demand, Solarized - as originally created by Ethan Schoonover - is the highly valued color scheme for code editors and terminal emulators. Delivering both dark-mode and light-mode schemes for GTK, xfwm4, openbox-3, and GNOME-Shell this GUI-centric theme - with supporting icons and folders - strictly adheres to Ethan Schoonover's original color scheme, which has been published for many major applications, with some including the scheme pre-installed. Coders and GUI users, alike, know that - once you try Solarized - it is hard to go back to anything else.
In His Own Words:
"Solarized is a sixteen color palette (eight monotones, eight accent colors) designed for use with terminal and gui applications. It has several unique properties. I designed this colorscheme with both precise CIELAB lightness relationships and a refined set of hues based on fixed color wheel relationships. It has been tested extensively in real world use on color calibrated displays (as well as uncalibrated/intentionally miscalibrated displays) and in a variety of lighting conditions." https://ethanschoonover.com/solarized/
Solarized-Colors-gtk-theme-iconpack, with folders, represent custom blended color and selections among the Sardi Ghost Flexible, Papirus & ArchDroid schemes with Android Lollipop's material design overlay. Directories furnished are: actions/scalable,animations/scalable,apps/scalable,categories/scalable,devices/scalable,emblems/scalable,mimetypes/scalable,places/scalable,status/scalable,stock/scalable.
Manual installation for the Solarized-Colors-gtk-theme-iconpack is easy:
1) Extract the "tar.xz" file into your "~/.icons/" folder - to install for current user only - or into the "/usr/share/icons/" folder - for the icons and folders to be applied globally. 2) Use the GNOME Tweak Tool or an equivalent app to enable it for your desktop.
Logging out and then logging back in may be necessary on some operating systems, to fully implement icons.
20-08-20: Version 2.0.4
Dark-Orange-Numix see some changes again. Why the obsession with that one (all of them actually)? Elemental differentiation is particularly important in accessibility and coder-friendly dark themes. Plus, it has been said that Numix icons look more realistic than others. Not as fancy and ornate as some - yet, more realistic looking vis-a-vis the object the icon is mimicking. We agree, so, the rtl88-Themes team takes every detail quite seriously when crafting/re-crafting your Numix icon representations.
This update saw 161 modifications, most notably, the folder tabs on the Orange, (standard) variant were further enhanced. The hue always stays the same, as adherence to the Solarized palate require that; but someone on the team found a way to make them pop out much better. This trick will be attempted on all other Numix flavor variants, where tabs appear a different value than the folder body. Commit: 623ad8

9 These are real good for the Solarized desktop theme. Are you taking any requests for additional icons for user apps and such? I got a couple, and I'll be real thankful to get them up on my rig. Please let me know. Thanks!
Absolutely, I have already crafted several dozen new icons for this same iconpack. They will be in the next update. If you email me your request, I'll see if I can get them in that update in a couple of days.
